Monty and TrustYou both help hospitality businesses collect guest feedback and look after their online reviews, but they are built for different jobs. Monty is for restaurants, hotels, bars, cafés, hostels and groups that want to ask every guest for a review on the spot and get problems to the right person quickly. TrustYou is a customer experience platform for hotels, from independents to large chains, built around surveys, analytics and competitor benchmarking. This page compares the two as of September 2026, including which plan each feature comes with.

On Monty, the review page, QR codes, SOS alerts and the rank map come with every plan, Essentials included; the review inbox, AI-drafted replies, sentiment and topics, and the weekly report come with Premium and Premium Plus, and webhooks with every plan. A review, for Monty's monthly allowance, is any feedback a guest leaves on your Monty page.
Where Monty is different
Built for the moment the guest is in front of you
Monty's review page opens from a QR code on a poster, table or counter card, room card, sticker or wallet card (touchpoints), with no app or login, in 31 languages. It works the same way in a restaurant, bar or café as in a hotel, since all a guest needs is their phone. Every guest is asked, and every guest can post publicly (why that matters). Guests who rate you at or above your threshold go straight on to Google, Tripadvisor, Trustpilot, Facebook or LINE; guests below it see a private form that reaches the manager first, with the public link still on the page.
TrustYou can collect feedback on site too: from the Essential plan, its surveys open from a QR code at the property, on a tablet during the stay or at checkout, or from the guest Wi-Fi page (source), and guests who complete one can be invited to copy their feedback into Google or Tripadvisor. The difference is that Monty's page is a short review request rather than a survey, it comes with every plan, and it can send guests on to any of six public review sites.
Problems go to the right person, on the channel they use
When a guest leaves a low rating or reports an issue, Monty sends an SOS alert by email, WhatsApp, Telegram or in the Monty dashboard, routed by person, role or area. If nobody acknowledges it within two hours it escalates, and each guest issue becomes a numbered case you can follow through. In a hotel, that means a problem can reach the right team while the guest is still staying (more on in-stay feedback). TrustYou documents email notifications: instant ones for new survey reviews, and a daily digest of online reviews at 2:00 AM CET.
A weekly report email and your Google Maps ranking
On Premium and Premium Plus, Monty emails an AI-written report every week in one of 15 languages, alongside sentiment across 8 topics, and it forecasts your rating 12 weeks ahead. Every plan includes a rank map that scans your position in Google Maps on a 7x7 grid each week, so you can see how you show up for people searching nearby (do reviews affect your ranking?). TrustYou writes summaries too, with Summary AI on its Professional plan and scheduled reports from Essential, but its pricing page lists no Google Maps rank tracking.
Monthly plans, and one price for a group
Monty's single-venue plans are billed monthly and run month to month: Essentials with 75 reviews a month, Premium with 100, and Premium Plus with no limit, per venue (ask for a price). TrustYou's CXP plans start at €75, €130 and €180 per property per month, billed annually (pricing), and its standard terms run for 12 months at a time. To compare like for like, AI-drafted replies come with Monty Premium, and TrustYou's Response AI with Professional, from €180.
Groups get one price for the whole group, set with us, on one invoice, billed monthly or yearly, with a portfolio overview, owner, regional manager and location manager roles, and SOS response times compared venue by venue (multi-location). TrustYou publishes its prices per property, so ask it how it prices a group.
Where TrustYou may suit you better
You want surveys triggered by your PMS
From the Essential plan, TrustYou runs pre-stay, on-site and post-stay surveys in 34 languages, one survey on Essential and as many as you like on Professional. It can send them by email using stay data from your PMS or CRM, SFTP, a file upload or its Survey API (source). Its partner page lists systems such as Oracle OPERA, Mews, Apaleo and Cloudbeds. Monty has no survey builder and no PMS or POS integrations.
You benchmark against named competitors
Every TrustYou plan includes competitor benchmarking, with 5 to 7 competitors per property depending on plan (pricing). In its Benchmarks dashboard you can also compare your own properties with competitors' by rule, using segments such as brand, country or city, or by adding properties by hand (source). Monty does not produce competitor benchmarking reports.
Booking.com and OTA reviews matter to you
TrustYou's inbox gathers reviews from OTAs and booking platforms as well as review sites, and on every plan replies post straight to Google and Booking.com once connected. Monty's inbox covers Google, Tripadvisor and Trustpilot, and someone on your team posts each drafted reply.
You run a large hotel group and want a wider suite
TrustYou has worked in hospitality since 2008 and names chains such as Mandarin Oriental, Accor and Rosewood among its customers (source). Alongside CXP it sells a customer data platform from €350 and AI agents from €100 per property per month (pricing). If you want guest data, marketing audiences and reputation from one supplier, that breadth may matter more than anything else on this page.
Switching to Monty
- Check your notice period. The standard terms of TrustYou GmbH set a 12-month first term that renews for another 12 months unless you give written notice at least three months before the end. The notice must be signed by an authorised person, by hand or with an advanced electronic signature, and sent as an original. The US terms carry the same 12-month and three-month clause and also accept a signed notice by fax or as a PDF by email. Your own order form may differ.
- Try it on one venue. New venues get 10 free reviews, so you can test the review page with real guests first.
- Set up the review page. Write your headline, questions and fields, set the star threshold, and choose the public site guests are sent on to.
- Put QR codes where guests are. Posters, table and counter cards, room cards, stickers and wallet review cards all open your review page.
- Decide who hears about problems. Set SOS routing by person, role or area, and choose email, WhatsApp, Telegram or the Monty dashboard.
- Bring in your reviews. On Premium and Premium Plus, your Google, Tripadvisor and Trustpilot reviews arrive in one inbox; pick one of the 11 tones for drafted replies.
- Add the rest of the group. Give owners, regional managers and location managers their roles, and get one invoice for every venue.
- Keep what Monty does not replace. If you rely on TrustYou's surveys, competitor benchmarking or PMS-triggered emails, Monty has no equivalent, so decide whether you still need them before you give notice. On every plan, Monty's webhooks (7 events) can send reviews on to your other tools; the Partner API is for software platforms that want to ask for reviews from inside their own product.
The short version
Choose Monty if you run restaurants, bars, cafés, hotels or hostels and want every guest asked for a review on the spot, with problems sent straight to the person who can fix them, on a plan you can change or cancel month to month. Choose TrustYou if you run hotels, particularly as a larger group, and need PMS-linked surveys, competitor benchmarking, OTA reviews and direct replies to Google and Booking.com in one platform.
